This piece of Mexican art was painted by Frida Khalo one of the most famous mexican women in the world. This portrait was painted in 1939.
Shortly after her divorce from Diego Rivera, Frida completed this self-portrait of two different personalities.
In 1947, this painting was purchased by the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Institute of Fine Arts) in Mexico City.
